Deadman Wonderland


Overview:

Deadman Wonderland is a Japanese manga series written by Jinsei Kataoka and illustrated by Kazuma Kondou. It was published in Shōnen Ace from 2008 to 2013. The series follows Ganta Igarashi, a high school student who is falsely accused of murdering his entire class and is sentenced to the privately-owned prison, Deadman Wonderland.


Plot:

In Deadman Wonderland, prisoners are forced to participate in brutal games in order to survive. While fighting to clear his name and find the real killer, Ganta is aided by Shiro, a mysterious albino girl with a strange connection to the prison. He also encounters other prisoners with special abilities known as Deadmen.


Adaptations:

An anime adaptation of Deadman Wonderland, produced by Manglobe, aired in Japan between April and July 2011. The series has been licensed by Viz Media for release in North America and other regions.
